This week in Peace class we celebrated World Book Day! Our costumes were fantastic and everybody looked amazing dressed as their favourite character or in WBD colours. Well done everyone.
This week in RE we have re-enacted a Jewish wedding. Four of us are acting as a chuppah – a canopy which is formed over the bride and groom throughout the marriage ceremony.
Last week Year 3 and Year 5 teamed up to create baubles for the Christmas trees at St Margaret’s church. This week Year 3 took the wonderful decorations to the church and decorated the tree ready for Christmas! Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone.
This week Compassion Class was taken over by Saunton family group during our RE day. We had a brilliant time learning about Diwali; we even got to dress up!
Lundy family group enjoyed Diwali day. In the photo you’ll see we paired up with someone else in our family group. We created an emotions chart to show the different emotions felt throughout the Diwali story.
This week in Peace Class we had an amazing day of celebration! Our topic ‘Let’s take over the world’ ended with a big celebration showing off all the hard work we put in in class and at home. It was brilliant to see so many of our parents and carers who came in to share our tasty ‘Roman bread’.
This week we came together as a school in our family groups for Diwali Day. In Clovelly family group we coloured Mandala images, made diva lamps and danced! We also did a brilliant workshop in the hall where we learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and the reason for the festival of Diwali. This is Hanuman, the monkey god, flying through the air with Ravana, the ten headed demon, in the background.
This week Braunton family group had a fantastic time celebrating the Diwali festival. This week’s picture shows children dressing up as Lakshman, Prince Rama and Princess Sita.
This week in Peace and Forgiveness Classes, we were lucky enough to have a visit from a famous author. Joffre White, from Appledore Book Festival, came to visit the children and talk to them about what it means to be an author.
This week in Peace class we carried out an investigation into the force of friction. Using a toy car, a ramp and lots of different surfaces we investigated how far a car would travel before the force of friction stopped it. We planned our investigation, made some predictions and will be moving on to handling the results data.
